Nuon Chea’s interim period as Acting Khmer Rouge Prime Minister ends with the communique of the official visit of Pol Pot to China at the end of the month. In it Pol Pot is described as Prime Minister and Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Cambodia.

According to US intelligence, diplomats are allowed to visit the Central Market in PhnomPenh but have to be driven there by Khmer Rouge cadres and they must wear distinctive clothing. A chicken is said to cost $ 9.

Having not paid their @UN dues for two years, Cambodia was about to lose its voting rights. But a payment of $36,984 against a debt of $181,000 permits Cambodia to exercise its full voting rights and the UN General Assembly to proceed with its regular business.
