Khmer Rouge cadre Ta An complains to the party that Huot would only confess with “hot interrogation” & that at Ang Ta Saom there are no “confidential places to conduct interrogation at ease”. In response Angkar orders to separate Huot from her 1 year-old baby.

Dec, 24, 1977: 🇸🇪Ambassador to Thailand J. Oberg returns from his 48h trip to Cambodia. “I saw no sign of oppression or cruelties against the population”. He said he saw only 4 armed Cambodians during the trip & “nothing that suggests people are working under armed threats”.
