The August 1978 issue of Revolutionary Flag refers to the Vietnamese as the “territory-swallowing expansionist genocidal Yuon aggressor enemy” & says “We see clearly that the Kampuchean people under the leadership of our Party are fighting bravely to eradicate the Yuon enemy” 4. Having so far only imported black clothing, the Khmer Rouge start to distribute blue clothing to evacuees from the Eastern Zone, which are viewed as “Khmer bodies with Vietnamese minds“.
