Kuon said he had been planing his escape “for the last 2 years”. He named Saloth Sar (Pol Pot) as the most powerful Khmer Rouge leader and said Sihanouk was considered to be “Enemy Nr 1.” He said the KR kiled virtually all the rich, civil servants & members of the old army” 2/2

According to @AFP the Liberation Front for Northern Cambodia, consisting of ~200 armed men led by a former Lon Nol officer, controls a 100 km² area in the jungle south of Poipet. For now, it aims to help refugees flee and spread the word that resistance to the Khmer Rouge exists
