In an interview with @AFP, Hun Sen, the People’s Republic’s Foreign Minister admits a “serious food shortage” in Cambodia. Because of a lack of tools & seeds, “collective exploitation” is needed for agricultural production, “but without Khmer Rouge methods.”
Thai Prime Minister Kriangsak seeks Soviet support for a Geneva conference on Cambodia with the Khmer Rouge, Sihanouk & Heng Samrin in attendance. Diplomats discussed “reconvening” Geneva 1954 for months, as it would predecide attendance (🇹ðŸ‡& ASEAN didn’t in 1954)
