A Khmer Rouge commander from Tram Kak district reports to Angkar that “conditions are rather bad”: four cans of rice have to suffice as daily ration for 10 people.
So Cantho, now a refugee in Thailand, says about marriage under the Khmer Rouge:
– Weddings are attended by all villagers
– Need to be approved by Angkar
– Adultery is punished by death
