Khmer Rouge Foreign Minister IENG Sary writes a diary entry titled “Documents on Consciousness”: Class contradictions within Cambodian society need to be resolved. “While types of classes (worker, peasants, etc.) were eliminated, their ‘class essence’ was still there”.

The Thai National Security Council says the 26 refugees sent back to Cambodia were executed immediately by the Khmer Rouge. It said no more escapees would be sent back against their will. An Interior Ministry rep. said the refugees were spies and therefore sent back.
